Kazakh SRVI provides services for scientific support of veterinary welfare of economic entities (assessment of the epizootic situation for infectious and non-infectious diseases, diagnosis of animal diseases, development of antiepizootic measures, production of diagnostic, preventive and therapeutic drugs, provision of practical assistance during veterinary measures) in each region of the Republic of Kazakhstan on a contractual basis and sells veterinary products.

82 researchers work in 10 structural divisions and 6 branches, 11 of them are doctors of sciences, 29 -candidates of sciences, 9-PhDs, 28 -masters and 5-doctoral students.

The Institute is accredited as a testing center for the diagnosis of particularly dangerous infectious and invasive animal diseases, food safety, quality determination of biological products, feed and feed additives in accordance with the requirements of GOST ISO/IEC 17025-2009; as a provider of proficiency testing for laboratory diagnostics of particularly dangerous infections according to GOST ISO/IEC 17043 – 2013.

Has a permit of the Regime Commission of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan to conduct experimental, diagnostic and production work with microorganisms of group II, III, IV pathogenicity and helminths, certificates and state licenses confirming the professional competence of the Institute.

In 2015, the Institute was accredited according to ISO/IEC 17043 “Conformity assessment. General requirements for proficiency testing”, which gives the right to the Kazakh SRVI to conduct the proficiency testing for veterinary laboratories and reference centers in the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The Kazakh SRVI is fully provided with a testing and methodological base, uses regulatory documents and standards, in accordance with the requirements of quality management.
